Custom Flashings Lismore – Made-to-Measure Metroll Steel Flashings

When a job doesn't fit a standard profile, NR Roofing Centre sources custom-made flashings through Metroll, manufactured to the exact shape, angle and length your site needs. Whether it's an awkward junction on a hinterland roofline or a heritage restoration with no standard match available, we handle the ordering process and get the finished flashing to your Lismore yard or job site.

When You Need a Custom Flashing

Standard flashings cover most jobs, but not every roofline plays by the rules. Unusual angles, non-standard junctions, heritage profiles and tricky architectural details often call for a flashing made to the exact measurements of the site rather than picked off a shelf. Getting this wrong, or trying to force a standard flashing into a non-standard gap, is a common source of leaks down the track. We act as your broker for custom flashing orders, managing the specification and manufacturing process so the finished product fits the job the first time.

What Can Be Custom Manufactured

Through Metroll, we can source custom flashings in virtually any shape and size, including:

  • Custom gutters, cappings, flashings and other rainwater profiles, manufactured to match your specific measurements and angles
  • Widths up to 1200mm, covering everything from small trim pieces to wide custom capping
  • Lengths up to 8 metres, for larger or continuous custom runs
  • Profiles matched to suit popular cladding and roofing systems, including Corodek®, Trimclad®, Metlok 700®, Metrospan®, Metroclad®, Metrib®, Mini Corodek® and Spanplus 500®

If your job involves one of these roofing or walling systems and needs a flashing outside the standard range, we can source a matching custom profile rather than compromising on a near-enough fit.

Material Options

Custom flashings are available in the same material range as Metroll's standard flashings:

  • COLORBOND® steel, colour-matched to your existing roofing, guttering and fascia
  • ZINCALUME® steel, a corrosion-resistant option suited to a wide range of applications
  • Galvanised steel, where a galvanised finish is specified for the job

Getting the Material Right for the Conditions

Not every material suits every site, and the wrong combination can lead to premature corrosion. A few things worth factoring into a custom flashing order:

  • Corrosive environments. Sites within around 1km of industrial, chemical, marine or otherwise corrosive conditions need extra consideration on material choice, so flag this when you order.
  • Local exposure factors. Prevailing wind direction, rainfall intensity, sun exposure, shelter and any areas that don't get washed by rain can all affect how a flashing material performs over time.
  • Material compatibility. Lead should never be used in direct contact with COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® steel, and drainage from copper fittings shouldn't run onto COLORBOND®, ZINCALUME® or galvanised surfaces. Bare metal and some chemically treated timbers also aren't compatible with COLORBOND® steel.

If you're unsure whether a material suits a particular site, our trade desk can talk through the conditions with you before the order is placed.

How to Order a Custom Flashing

Custom flashings are made to your exact specifications, so the more detail you can give us upfront, the more accurate the finished product will be. When you're ready to order, we'll need:

  1. A profile sketch, showing the shape of the flashing you need
  2. Measurements for each dimension, taken directly from the site
  3. Any relevant angles, where the flashing isn't a simple straight bend
  4. Direction of taper, if the flashing needs to taper along its length
  5. Material, thickness and finish, including which side the colour should sit on if COLORBOND® steel is specified
  6. Quantity and length required for each profile

Send this through to our trade desk and we'll manage the order with Metroll, confirm the lead time, and arrange delivery or pickup once it's ready.

  • Fast turnaround once manufactured. Same-day dispatch and 1-hour delivery are available in select areas once your custom flashing is ready.

Picked up roof supplies and paint gear last week. Good range, fair pricing, and they knew what fittings I actually needed, which saved me a second trip back. That’s how it should be.

FAQs about Custom Roof Flashings in Lismore

  • How long does a custom flashing take to arrive?

Lead times depend on the complexity of the order, but Metroll's made-to-order process is designed for short turnarounds. Get in touch with our trade desk and we'll confirm an accurate timeframe once we have your specifications.

  • What information do you need to place a custom order?

A profile sketch, measurements for each dimension, any angles or tapers, the material and finish, and the quantity and length required. The more detail you provide upfront, the more accurate the finished flashing will be.

  • Can you match a custom flashing to my existing roof colour?

Yes. Custom flashings in COLORBOND® steel can be matched to your existing roofing, guttering and fascia colour, and we'll confirm which side the colour sits on as part of the order.

  • My site is near the coast. Does that affect what material I should use?

It can. Sites within around 1km of marine, industrial or chemical environments need extra consideration on material choice, so let us know your site conditions and we'll advise on the best option before ordering.
